Okay so I have an ipod touch 2nd Generation. Should I Update it?
I Have an ipod touch 2nd generation and read on the apple website that some of the features such as multitasking and wallpaper won’t work on the 2g model. Is it necessary to even install the new operating system or should i stay with the current 3.1.3 version? I also don’t want to lose all of my videos, music, photos etc. What should I do?
I too have a 2nd gen iPod touch. I updated.
The wallpaper and multitasking don’t work, so there isn’t a real reason to do it. What I *do* like is the folders. It’s much easier to keep certain folders of apps for things like Games, Education, Reference, Music etc. The only thing I hate is that each folder holds but 12 apps, so I have to makes folders (on the iPod with simple drag and drop action) like Games I, Games II, Games III, Best Games etc. Not that bad. It beats having them spread over 12 pages!
When you update, update to Itunes 9.2. And use YOUR computer because it will back up and erase your iPod, update itself, then restore your media. …You’ll get everything back if your library is up to date.
What annoys me most is that I can’t have the wallpaper function like 3rd gens can have. Why couldn’t it work for my 8 GB!? lol

anddd ssh ***** up for me so i use iphone browser. so yes i have tht ability.
maybe could i like…go into the theme folder and delete all the other crap coz i only want to keep the icons from that theme.

actually, all themes let you do this. Go to Winterboard, then find your video theme that you wish to use. Put it at the top of the list. You can do that by holding the ‘three bars’ on the ‘right side and dragging it up the list. This prioritizes ur video theme above ur complete theme. So, if the video theme is simply a video theme without icons or anything, then the video will show, and everything else not covered by the video theme such as icons, lockscreen, etc. will be supported by ur second theme which in ur case is annme.
By prioritizing ur list, u can combine themes easily =]
