Need help with VGA component cable to TV.?
Hi there I have a Laptop ( running Vista basic) and I recently bought a VGA to RCA cable so I can plug my computer into my TV(NOT a HD TV). To be more specific it is the red green and blue connections. When I connect to the proper input and set my tv as another monitor I can see my desktop wallpaper BUT it is very distorted with purple static. When I plug those cables in to the yellow white red input I get the same static but its white. Any ideas? I have a ATI graphics card and I get the same problem when I do the connection through it’s display options.

Sorry I should have been more Clear. My tv DOES have the blue green and red inputs. When I plug into those I get the purple static.

You got the wrong cable forrest. You DON’T plug this type of cable into red and white inputs!!! These are AUDIO inputs. You bought a COMPONENT video cable and your TV would need red, green, and blue VIDEO inputs. You need a VGA to RCA composite video cable which would plug into ONLY the yellow input on the TV.

i saw a youtube video once and i can not remember what it was about but i do remember that i really liked the wallpaper on the person’s desktop. it had sections where you could place your icons in the wallpaper so it looked like it was part of the OS’s design. it looked really cool. my question is if anyone knows of any wallpapers like this that i could use for myself.
